EGX Gaming Convention - 24th September 2015

Hey everyone!

Yesterday, myself and my boyfriend went to the EGX gaming convention in Birmingham NEC.

Bit of a spur of the moment, as we only booked the tickets Monday! (Luckily they had some left). Thought it would be a nice treat for Alex's birthday, seeing as gaming is his passion, and I would enjoy it too!

We went up on the train to go in for 11am.
There wasn't too much queueing as it was one of the more quieter days to go.

On the other hand, the queues to play the games were another story. The popular games, you were looking at a 2 hour wait until you could go in!

We decided to look around the stalls before deciding which game to queue for. The whole venue was lowly lit, which gave it a really cool feel!

The main game I wanted to play was Rise of the Tomb Raider, which we did queue for an hour and actually got to play.

We had about 30 minutes of game play which we really enjoyed, and I can't wait until it comes out on PS4.

We had a look what else there was but all the games we wanted to play had super long queues, so Alex decided to play Uncharted for a bit.

We had a few more pictures taken with some really awesome sceneries and prop replicas from games, I personally love the motor bike, from Metal Gear Solid!

I ended up buying a couple of Hoodies and game inspired scented candles, and a limited edition print.

-Green Last Of Us Hoodie - from InsertcoinClothing
-Grey Zelda Hoodie and candles - from GameTee

-Print -from GameTee

It was such an amazing day and I wish we had been there all 4 days just so we could have had more time to play the games we wanted.

But it was great and I can't wait for next year!

Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation and primer review

For a good few months now, I have been wanting to try the Double wear foundation by Estée Lauder.
After hearing so many good reviews on YouTube about how well it lasts on the skin and how flawless it makes you look, I decided to pick up a bottle.

I had gone shopping with a friend and a representive from Estée Lauder told us about an offer they were offering. If you bought 2 of their products you would get a free goody bag.

How could I say no to that?!

I had my colour match done in the shop,(which I did have to get swapped a week later as it was too dark for me!) and as I spoke to the lady, she recommended a primer to me, as I suffer with such oily skin. So I also picked up the Matte perfecting primer, and got my free beauty case of lovely-ness!

After wearing it for a week now, it definatly stays put all day on my face, which is a huge plus for me, seeing as I can never keep anything from sliding off my face after a few hours.

Once applied, the primer takes on a chalky texture on the skin, drying up any oil, and making for a smooth and even finish.

I then go on to apply my foundation with my beauty blender, it covers all my pores on my cheeks and feels weightless and silky.

It drys instantly and doesn't feel wet or liquid on your face.

It also claims to be smudge proof, which I have yet to test. I am known for doing all my makeup nd then putting on a pale top and getting that horrid foundation mark over the collar.

I then apply my Vichy dermablend setting powder all over the top to set it in place.

The foundation was £30 and the primer was £24.50. Which may seem a bit steep for some peoples budgets but seeing as you only need a small amount of primer it will last you forever!

Same for the foundation, as you don't need to reapply it through the day.

I would definatly buy these products again and stick them to the number #1 place in my foundation list!

It's a 10/10 from me!

My Micro-loop Hair Extensions

Hello everyone!

If you didn't already know, my hair is mainly all extensions. I have worn Micro-loop extensions since I was 16, and I get a huge amount of questions about them! So I thought I would share my knowledge and experiences with you!
Micro-loop hair extensions are little rings that wrap around a small section of your hair and are then closed around to seal them on.

Although it's not recommend, you can dye them, which I do, but it does shorten the life span of the hair.

Usual 100-300 strands maybe used to create a full head of volume and thickness to the clients desire.

You would need infills every 2/3 weeks to keep them maintained.

They don't damage your natural hair because there are no chemicals or glues used to attach them.

Maintenance can be difficult for some clients as they take a lot of care to be looked after properly!

I have only ever used clip ins before but I would choose these over any other extensions!

For the week at work, I usually just chuck my hair up in a bun, and try not to use hear on my hair, which helps my hair grow strong healthy and a lot faster!

I would definatly recommend Microloops to anyone wanting hair extensions!

All about Eyelash Extensions.

Being a beauty therapist, I usually get asked alot of questions about treatments and products.
One of the most popular questions being about eyelash extensions.

So as I am a qualified lash technician, I thought I would do a post all about them, for those of you who may be considering having them done for yourself or just curious!

Eyelash extensions are individual hairs that are glued to each one of your separate lashes. (Yes, it's a fiddily job, but very theraputic!)

They are perfect for holidays, or special occasions!

You can use a mixture of lengths, thickness's and curls to create the look you are wanting. You can go from natural to dramatic.

The treatment usually takes about 1 1/2 hours up to 2 1/2 hours for a full set, depending on how full your natural lashes are.

You can also have a half set which is typically just lashes applied towards the outer ends of your eyes to create a flicked/wing effect.

Prices range from around £40 - £100, depending on where the salon is.

Regular infills every 3 weeks are key to keeping the lashes looking great and maintained, as your extensions will fall out as your natural lashes shed out. Infills are usually cheaper than the full set, anywhere from £20 - £40, again depending on your salons location.

You don't need to wear mascara with them, as it can shorten their life span, but you can wear oil free mascara.

Eyelash extensions do not damage your eyelashes, as long as they are applied correctly by a professional and also that you follow regular aftercare advice.

So I hope that's answered alot of your questions! If not then feel free to comment below and questions you may have and I will get back to you.

All photos are my own work!

Thank you for reading

Loreal Elvive Extraordinary oil review

I've never been kean on hair oils. I've always been scared my hair will look like some oily chips!

I get a few fly-away hairs and thought I would try this out to try and tame them. I picked it up on offer in Tesco. It was £4.99 on sale.

Not only can you use it on all hair types, it also protects from heat up to 230•C.

It helps to smooth hair, nourish and give shine, all without feeling greasy.

You can apply to wet or dry hair. I tend to wash my hair, towel dry, then apply to small pumps of oil to the ends of my hair before blow drying.

It doesn't feel greasy at all, and really helps to smooth my hair, making it feel incredibly soft once styled.

I do apply it to my micro-loop hair extensions and it keeps them in good manageable condition without creating knots or tangles. Which is fantastic!

All in all its a great product and keeps my hair silky soft!
